Safety

Safety is our utmost priority, and communication is essential to maintaining it. In order to make sure all renters can understand and follow our safety requirements, we are only allowing those fluent in English to rent a boat. If a renter does not understand English, we cannot make sure they understand our rental agreement or our staff’s pre-rental overview. We do not discriminate based on nationality, ethnicity, ancestry, or race.

About Our Rentals

PINE CREST MARINA offers a multitude of rentals on Lake Wallenpaupack in the Pocono Mountains. Summer fun is available and is within your reach and also within your budget! There are plenty of options available including speedboats, pontoons, runabouts and deck boats. Moreover, we offer water sport equipment such as tubes, water skis and wakeboards. Rental periods for these are half-day, full-day or multi-day.

For our other rentals, we have pedal boats and paddleboards. These are usually rented hourly.

We offer different rental durations to accommodate our varying customers’ needs. The most common are two, three, or seven hours. We also offer limited evening rentals. Hourly and Multi-Day prices are available upon request. Contact us if you would like to book for a special event, or if you want a captain onboard.

Full refund or reschedule for inclement weather conditions stated in agreement.

POLICIES

Rental Policy

REQUIREMENTS: You must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, be in possession of a permanent boating license (or be born before January 1st, 1982) and have a valid credit card (no debit card or credit/debit card) to rent a boat. If you are not in possession of a boating license, you can acquire one here: www.boat-ed.com/pennsylvania

If renting multiple boats for one day, please contact the office prior to finalizing your reservation.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We require a 100% rental fee deposit to reserve a rental, of which $75.00 is nonrefundable. Any cancellations less than 48 hours, including for personal emergencies, before the Rental check-in will result in loss of entire reservation deposit. Failure to appear for reservation, late arrivals, or early departures are not eligible for any refunds. There is a one hour grace period for a “no show”. Rental interruptions during the Rental Period, including but not limited to, inadvertent Boat malfunctions on the part of Renter, weather conditions (except that listed below), personal emergencies, or otherwise are not eligible for refunds. Cancellation fees will be waived only if the following conditions exist on Lake Wallenpaupack at the time of the rental: heavy rain lasting more than 45 minutes; lightening; tornado warnings; high wind advisories or any condition that Pine Crest Marina considers unsafe boating conditions.

Cancellation Policy for Multiday Rentals (3+ Day)

  • A 100% rental fee deposit is required for multiday (3+ Day) reservations, of which $75 is not refundable.
  • For multiday (3+ day) rentals, any cancellations 7 days or less, including for personal emergencies, before the Rental start time will result in loss of entire reservation deposit.
  • “No shows”, late arrivals, or early departures not eligible for refunds.
  • There is a one hour grace period for late arrivals.
  • For multiday (3+ Day) rentals, no refund will be issued due to weather conditions.
  • Rental interruptions during the Rental Period, including but not limited to, inadvertent Boat malfunctions on the part of the renter, personal emergencies, or otherwise are not eligible for refunds.

Please note that below prices DO NOT include gas and 6% sales tax.

We DO NOT allow pets of any kind on any of our boats. However, service animals are allowed.

When booking a boat, look for a link to our “Boat Rental Agreement” in the confirmation email. Your reservation will not be complete until you fill out this agreement!

RENTING

Please Read

Please complete the required documents that were sent to you within the confirmation email. If they are not completed by all drivers and the cardholder, we will need you to step out of the office to complete the forms while we assist customers who have them completed and ready for check-in.

If this delays your rental, you will not be compensated for lost time. These forms are sent with the confirmation email.

You must be fluent in English to rent a boat. This is to ensure that you understand our rental agreement as well as our staff’s safety guidelines.

You must have a boating license if you were born on or after January 1st on 1982. You may obtain one by completing the Official Pennsylvania Boating Safety Course Online. We also require recent boating experience (last two years). Any operator that is required to have a Boating Safety Education Certificate must carry the certificate with them while operating a boat. Approved permanent Boating Safety Education Certificates for Pennsylvania residents must be issued by the PA Fish and Boat Commission. Out of state boaters must have a certificate issued for a course approved by the NASBLA.

If renting multiple boats, please contact the office before finalizing your reservation.

You may only have one towable per rental. If you choose two during the booking, the staff will only give you one.

Boating Safety

Since the safety of our renters is crucial to us, we provide safety guidebooks and videos on our Boating Safety page for every renter to review before they go on the water. On checkout, we will ask you to confirm that you have sufficiently informed yourself on these rules, regulations, and guidelines. The marina provides all required safety equipment and life jackets at no additional charge. Thank you for your understanding and participation in our boater education effort.

  • Must have valid credit card (CASH OR DEBIT NOT ACCEPTED) for $500 or $1,000 security deposit (no debit cards accepted). Deposit will be fully refunded provided there is no vehicle damage or excess in rental time allotment.
  • Be in possession of a permanent boating license (or be born before 01/01/1982).
  • For multiday (3+ Day) rentals, no refund will be issued due to weather conditions.
  • If you are not in possession of a boating license, you can acquire one online by completing the Official Pennsylvania Boating Safety Course Online.

Rental Policy

  • Pine Crest Marina may refuse, at its sole discretion, to rent to persons it feels are not qualified to operate the craft safely.
  • Rental agreement must be completed before departing launch site.
  • Pine Crest Marina may terminate, without refund, the rental of the craft, if in its sole judgment, the craft is operated unsafely or the renter violates any of the terms of the rental agreement or rental policies.
  • Person providing the deposit must be the one to sign the rental agreement.
  • The rented craft shall not be used for any unlawful purpose or operated under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Boat occupancy must not exceed boat capacity.
  • No nighttime running – craft must be secured between sunset and sunrise.
  • Any person not signatory to the rental agreement may not operate the craft.
  • Infants and children do count toward maximum capacity of watercraft.
  • Pets are not permitted on boat. Service animal exceptions may apply.
  • Fishing is not permitted. Exceptions apply.
  • Rentals do not include gas, tax, or insurance.
  • Pine Crest Marina and renter must complete boat inspection checklist at check-in and check-out.
  • Renter is responsible for learning and obeying all local, state and federal laws pertaining to the rented craft.
