We are excited to announce that we will be open to the public for boat rentals this 2022 season!
The last two years we have been implementing measures to keep our staff and renters safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. We altered the way we operated the marina, and asked renters to change the way they went about their rentals. We are truly thankful for our renters, who cooperated with us and complied with our new policies. With your help, we had a place where people could create happy memories during a difficult time.
Unfortunately, as you all know, COVID-19 is still here. We will maintain our new measures for the 2022 season. Please read the rules below and make sure you can comply with them before making your rental.
We changed our rental timeslots to make sure boats come and go at alternating times to better maintain social distancing. Rental times have been modified so our staff has time to thoroughly disinfect the boats before the next customers come in.
All renters and guests are required to wear masks at all times while on the premises. Customers are only able to use the boat with others they are already quarantining with – this usually means only other members of their household. Restrooms will remain open, but we ask that you follow social distancing at all times.
We also cannot allow walk-in rentals. We require you to book your rental at least 24 hours prior to the start time. This is to make sure we can stagger boat departures and arrivals.
Additionally, every rental comes with a COVID-19 waiver, and we ask the renter to verify that neither they nor any member of their group has exhibited symptoms recently. We will comply with any federal, state, or local laws that may arise during this time.
We also changed the way renters check in. Only the main driver/renter will enter the office to verify their identity and sign papers. The guests will wait outside or in their vehicles, and then go straight to their boat after the driver has completed the check-in process. Because of this, we can only allow people to rent boats if they have a permanent boating license or were born before January 1, 1982. Renters also need recent experience operating boats. We also ask that you keep your license on you so that you can verify your identity and legal ability to operate the boat with lake authorities if necessary.
If you cannot comply with these new rules, we ask that you please do not rent a boat this season. Pine Crest Marina continues to take this public health risk seriously. We will take every precaution necessary to protect our guests and staff from COVID-19. This includes following all federal, state, and local guidelines and restrictions.
